Diploma in Hypnotherapy (practitioner level)
This is our most popular course and our practitioner level students come from a variety of backgrounds.
Some already practice as therapists and want to add hypnotherapy to their services. Others have been teachers, engineers, IT specialists, nurses, beauticians, clerical workers and a variety of other occupations. It doesn't matter because our course will teach you all you need to know to become a professional hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy practitioner courses are held at Wakefield and York.
Practitioner level students complete ten modules, each made up of two days. You can study one weekend per month, or half a day per week (Mon-Fri) during term time. Either way, you get 20 full days of training.
The ten modules are made up of four Foundation level modules, then a further six Development modules. You can enrol to study at practitioner level straight away, or just sign up for the foundation course initially and add the development modules later.
Overall the course is based on the realities of running a hypnotherapy practice. You start with hypnosis - if you're not a good hypnotist, you can't be a good hypnotherapist! Then we go on to look at the therapeutic relationship, building your communication and listening skills so you can get the right information from your clients and build a good level of trust with them. The next part of the course looks at those issues most of your clients are likely to bring to you, and finally we look at some specialist areas so you can consider how you want to develop your practice over time. Throughout, we focus on building knowledge, practical skills, flexibility and professionalism.
Our practitioner course is accredited by a number of professional bodies, for more about this, click here.
On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded
- The YHT Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
- The YHT Certificate of NLP skills
(Wondering why all schools seem to give different certificates? It's explained here.) Our certification means you have all you need to register at Practitioner level with one of the professional bodies which accredit our course, obtain professional insurance and begin to work as a Hypnotherapist. If you choose to join the GHR you will also receive their industry-based award the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP).
In addition, all our practitioner level students take an externally validated home study course as part of their independent study to help you differentiate and build your business when you start out.
Entry into this course is included in your fees to us. Ask us if you want more information about it.
