Why should I choose you?

Other courses offer free Taster events, why don't you?

Numbers at our Taster events are kept very small, usually around four people, occasionally up to six at very busy times. This allows plenty of time for individual attention and to answer any questions you might have. There is no hard sell and no obligation to sign up for other courses. Because numbers are so limited, we ask for £10 as a way of ensuring that those who have a genuine interest in the topic can get the places. If you decide to sign up for one of our longer courses we deduct the £10 from your deposit, making the taster day effectively free.

How do you assess your students (otherwise known as - are there exams)?
No, there are no exams. Your tutor will monitor your practical skills in the classroom as you move through the course, other students and the people you practice with will give you feedback, and you will be asked to submit some written work as part of your independent study. There is a minimum attendance requirement. Assuming you are progressing satisfactorily in all these areas, you will pass the course. If you experience any difficulties, you will be given a chance to repeat or resubmit work in the affected areas.
The Smoking Cessation Diploma is assessed via written work submitted to an external examiner.

Why do different hypnotherapy schools give different qualifications?
Because of the lack of regulation and the number of accrediting bodies, each school you look at will probably issue slightly different qualifications. The name of your qualification doesn't matter as much as whether the course is designed around the Voluntary Regulations. For more on this topic, and others, please send for our free ebook 'How to become a hypnotherapist'.

What's all this about Voluntary Regulations?
In the UK hypnotherapy is subject to a voluntary regulation agreement, which means it's there but you don't have to work - or train - within it. This is why you will have seen so many different courses offering to train you as a hypnotherapist, some of which are much shorter than ours. Some are even distance learning. We do work within the voluntary regulations because it's the responsible thing to do. It gives you (and us) a framework to guide what we put on the course and how we teach it. It tells you how you should work and what you should know when you are trained. In other words, it provides accountability. For more on this topic, and others, please send for our free ebook 'How to become a hypnotherapist'.

Other courses I've found take much less time, isn't that easier?
As a hypnotherapist you are working with people's emotional and psychological wellbeing. A weekend course and a book of hypnotherapy scripts does not mean you can do this safely, effectively or professionally. The therapists that brief courses turn out may sometimes help someone, just as a 'cowboy' plumber might occasionally fix a tap. But would you knowingly call one in? Or, more to the point, would you want to become one? If you were the client, would you want to see a therapist who had trained as quickly and cheaply as possible, or one who had invested time, money and effort in a thorough understanding of the field?
Many hypnotherapists find a lot of their clients come by word of mouth, and that means being good at what you do. If you want a therapy business that will grow, become successful and genuinely help the people you work with you need to provide a top class, professional service. And that means investing in top class, professional training with no short cuts.

Can other study be counted towards my hypnotherapy training?
If you have already undertaken some accredited hypnotherapy training elsewhere and wish to transfer to us it might be possible to offset what you have already covered. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.with full details of the course you took (when, where, who with, areas covered, accreditation) and we will let you know. You will need to provide proof of your prior training (e.g. certificates or a letter from the previous trainer) at the time of enrolling.

It's a lot of money, will I be able to make it back?
We offer 20 full days of training, and our fees if you study to practitioner level work out at less than £95 per day. This includes telephone and email support throughout the course, a text book and entry into an externally assessed specialist diploma worth £100. We also offer continued support when you are qualified in terms of supervision and advice. We feel this is pretty good value for money.
However, this is an investment in your future business and you'll obviously want to recoup it at some point. As with all self employment, your hypnotherapy practice will be what you make it, and no one can promise you a particular level of success. But have a look at this article on working as a hypnotherapist which offers some independent facts and figures about potential earnings and working in the complementary therapy industry.

How should I choose a hypnotherapy training course?
Don't rush into the first / cheapest / nearest course you find. This training is going to form the bedrock of your new career and it's worth making sure you have the best one for you.
Make a wish list and don't be afraid to ask questions. Look for the same information about each course you consider so you can compare them like for like. Have a spreadsheet!  And send for our free ebook 'How to become a hypnotherapist' which will give you a list of factors to consider.

Why should I choose you?
Because we're the best!
Well, OK, we have to think that. But we do feel our course is special.

  • It is accredited by a variety of professional bodies and fully compliant with the voluntary regulations
  • It offers the added (unique) bonus of being able to advertise yourself as a specialist, with a qualification over and above a basic practitioner's diploma, from day one of your new career
  • Our tutor is an experienced and well respected therapist, running a successful practice as well as teaching, and a published author
  • We don't have numerous classes churning out huge numbers of therapists as quickly as possible, we have a limited number of small classes with lots of individual attention
  • Our curriculum is based on the practicalities of running a therapy business. It starts by making you a good hypnotist and a good communicator, then goes on to cover the most common reasons people seek out hypnotherapists in-depth, and offer an introduction to other more specialist areas. In other words, it teaches you what you need to know to be a successful professional therapist.
