Hypnotherapy training dates and venues
Our hypnotherapy courses give you a choice of training during school hours, or at weekends. We also offer a choice of weekend venues - Wakefield and York (although classes are being held online whilst the COVID lockdown lasts).
When we are training face-to-face, both cities are easily accessible from a wide area by road, and there are good rail and bus networks for those travelling on public transport.
At present, most classes are being held online via Zoom. The accreditors have confirmed that this is acceptable as long as the COVID-19 crisis continues, but it is a temporary measure - the voluntary regulations do not usually recognise online training. Please bear this in mind when applying. At some point in your time with us, it is very likely that we'll be back to face-to-face classes and you will need to be able to get to the venues.
The weekend class in York runs the second weekend of each month, it will start in February 2021 and end in December. The early bird discount ends on 1st January 2021.
The weekend class in Wakefield runs the fourth weekend of each month, it will begin in September 2021 and continue each month (except December) until July 2022. The early bird discount ends on 13th August 2021.
Midweek training works slightly differently. Because I am aware that not everyone who wants to train during the week could attend on any day, the class is arranged around the preferences of those who want to train as much as is practical. The application form asks you which day/s you would be available. Once I have a viable group I organise the classes on the day that suits the majority. I can’t book a venue till I know which day we are running, so once the day is set I look at where everyone is coming from and choose a venue that's as central and accessible as possible. The application form also allows you to state a first and second choice of class so you could put midweek as the first choice, and a weekend group as your second choice.
It sounds very vague and ad hoc, I appreciate, but has worked pretty well since 2011! If you have any questions about it, please do get in touch.
There is only one midweek class per year and the next one will start in September 2021.
Please note: to qualify for the early bird discount you must apply, be offered a place, and return your deposit and learning contract before the cut-off dates.
All our venues have B&B nearby for anyone wishing to stay overnight. Parking prices listed were checked in 2019.
NB: These are the venues we were using before the COVID lockdown. If they are not available when we go back to face to face training, or if they cannot provide enough space for us to adhere to social distancing rules, other venues in the area will be used.
York - We will be at the Priory Street Centre, five minutes walk from the train station and park-and-ride stops. Pay and Display parking is available at the Centre for £7 per day, cheaper parking can often be found nearby by pre-booking via JustPark, or you can use the park and ride for £3.10. Smartcards or bulk buying tickets should enable you to pay less. Knavesmire Road offers free parking and is about twenty minutes' walk away if you fancy the exercise!
York is well placed for those living in the North Yorkshire area and further afield; Harrogate, Scarborough, Whitby and the East Coast etc. It's also easily accessible via the A1M from the North East of England; Newcastle, Durham, Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, and Darlington.
Mid-Week training - the venue varies depending on which day of the week we decide to meet. Please ask for more information if this is important to you.
Wakefield - Weekends: we generally use the Training Suite at Trinity Business Park, Wakefield. This is on Denby Dale Rd, close to the City Centre, both Wakefield train stations and the free city bus route. Free parking is available for those travelling by car.
Wakefield itself is conveniently sited close to the M62, M1 and A1 which makes it accessible from almost any area of Northern England or the Midlands. Most of our students travel from Leeds, Bradford, Hull, Manchester, Pontefract, Castleford, Doncaster, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Lincoln, although some come from further afield including Scotland and Staffordshire.
